In accordance with GB17440, which outlines the 'Grain Processing, Storage, and Transportation System Dust Explosion-Proof Safety Regulations', silos in China are classified within the dust explosion-proof Zone 20 environment. Consequently, all electrical apparatus within these silos must adhere to the stringent requirements of this safety zone. Currently, most sweep augers on the market have motors installed inside silos and must be fitted with Zone 20 explosion-proof motors as per regulations. Unfortunately, such motors are not available either domestically or internationally. Therefore, many enterprises resort to using sweep augers equipped with Zone 21 explosion-proof motors, which introduces certain safety risks.
